Following studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Patrick became a musician with the Central Band of the Royal Air Force, and is the only string player to have been awarded RAF Soloist of the Year.
After he left the RAF, Patrick was, for a decade, the manager, violist and music arranger of Marianne Olyver and her Orchestra, a salon orchestra specializing in light music.
The Orchestras broadcasts included BBC Radio 2 Melodies for You with Richard Baker, Friday Night is Music Night, Desmond Carrington All Time Greats, BBC Radio 3 In Tune, Brian Kay’s Light Programme, Classic FM and the ensemble's performances and recordings attracted critical acclaim:

a group of contemporary superstars The Daily Express.
Patrick leads the C Strings - a brand new ensemble which made it's concert debut in May 2016. They are a quartet of violists dedicated to sharing their love of this warm, mellow toned instrument with concert audiences. It's four members are musical colleagues of long standing, who can be found most weekends in the viola sections of top regional orchestras, including the Prometheus Orchestra and the Kingfisher Sinfonietta, supporting numerous Choral Societies, and in the case of the Kingfisher Sinfonietta, promoting its own concert series under the baton of internationally renowned conductor Elgar Howarth.
Patrick is the violist and manager of this professional ensemble based in East Anglia and covering Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire. The quartet perform for Weddings, Civil Ceremonies, Parties, Functions, Formal Events and Recitals.
Patrick is the violist of the Waveney Trio. Since it's formation in 2002, the Trio has dedicated itself to bringing the delightful repertoire for flute, violin / viola and piano, often supplemented with it's own arrangements, to the concert halls and churches of East Anglia.
The Quodlibet String Quartet is managed by its violist, Patrick Crooke. It provides beautiful music for weddings, parties and corporate events throughout East Anglia
The Suffolk-based Quodlibet String Quartet has gained an enviable reputation for providing professional live music of the highest standard throughout East Anglia, for a wide variety of engagements including weddings, parties, corporate events and concerts.
Working as freelance musicians, members of the quartet draw upon a wealth of experience within the music profession, including the Nash Ensemble, Delme String Quartet, English Chamber Orchestra, Marianne Olyver and her Orchestra amongst others.
This vibrant string quartet regularly adds to its diverse and extensive repertoire with its own musical arrangements of music specifically requested by clients.
